DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Southeastern United States... Seasonal fires continued emitting light to locally moderate density smoke plumes throughout the southeastern U.S. The smoke plumes were generally moving to the southeast. Cuba... Seasonal fires in Cuba produced many smoke plumes which generally moved to the southeast. AEROSOL... Mexico/Central America/Northwest Central America/Pacific Ocean: An area of light to moderate density aerosol and smoke was seen over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of southern Mexico and northwestern Central America. The aerosols are most likely from urban emissions with scattered fires mixed in. YL THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
