THROUGH 0050Z October 21, 2024
SMOKE: Midwest and Northeast U.S/Southern Ontario... A large area of light density smoke was observed stretching eastward from the Mississippi Valley, though the Great Lakes and Southern Ontario, and the Northeastern U.S., and continuing further east over northern Atlantic Ocean. Within the region. The smoke was produced from the seasonal burning within the southeastern U.S. AEROSOL: Western Mexico/Pacific Ocean... A stagnant plume consisting of light-density aerosols was also observed over the Pacific Ocean along western Mexico and south of the Gulf of California. The plume is likely associated with industrial activity originating from major urban centers located to the south-southeast.
