DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: North America... Heavy cloud cover throughout North America this morning precluded smoke analysis in this region. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Central-Southern Mexico/Gulf of Mexico/Pacific Ocean ... An area of light density smoke/aerosols attributed to seasonal fire activity, volcanic emissions and industrial sources throughout southern Mexico was observed spreading southwest into the Pacific Ocean and also along the Gulf Coast, where it mixed with smoke from agricultural fires in the southeastern United States and continued to the northeast. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
