Subject: Product Outage/Anomaly: GOES-15 (GOES-West) Imager Calibration --e89a8ff1c4b8d6699f04bb9799f6 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Topic: GOES-15 (GOES-West) Imager Calibration issue for band 3 during March 12-16, 2012 Date/Time Issued: March 18, 2012 1225 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: GOES-15 (GOES-West) Imager. Date/Time of Initial Impact: March 12, 2012 2021 UTC Date/Time of End: March 16, 2012 2045 UTC Length of Affected Data: 4 days, March 12 (2045 UTC) to March 16 (2045 UTC), 2012 Details/Specifics of Change: Due to a database coefficient (IBBTR) error in the Sensor Processing Subsystem (SPS), there was a cold bias (of approximately 5%) in the GOES-15 imager band 3 (6.5 um) from March 12 (2045 UTC) to March 16 (2045 UTC), 2012. Other bands were affected (warm bias) but at smaller levels. GVAR Words 7019=967242 (found in Block 0) IBBTR BB temperature-to-target radiance conversion coefficients. An array of 56 elements, 4 elements for each of the 14 IR detectors. Impact: All GOES-15 Imager images during the time range, mostly the band 3 (6.5 um). GOES-15 Sounder was not affected.
