An impact analysis has been performed to identify the causes for this anomaly. Based on the study results, a decision has been made to temporarily replace the MIRS AMSU TPW from N18, N19 and Metop-A with those from the MSPPS over ocean, while still keeping MIRS TPW over land. The effort is undergoing at NESDIS to develop a more advanced merging algorithm to make full use of the MIRS data everywhere. *Contact Information for Further Information:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov and 301-817-3880 *Web Site(s) for applicable information:*http://www.osdpd.noaa.gov/bTPW -- The operational blended TPW products page This message was sent from ESPC.Notification@noaa.gov.
