Impacts on Users and Significance: Operational capability for global
rainfall estimates from multiple
geostationary satellites.

The GHE extends the existing operational capability for GOES rainfall
estimates from a CONUS domain to the entire globe, equator-ward of 60
degrees. GHE meets the user community's need for support of global
flash flood guidance. The GHE also upgrades the current operational
system to meet the SPSRB code standards with enhanced error handling,
quality monitoring and validation capability. The operational GHE
products include: Instantaneous rain rate, 1 hour, 3 hour, 6 hour, 24
hour and also multi-day precipitation accumulation over global Land and
Ocean.
