Details/Specifics of Change: Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC) is planning 4 network outages in August, 2012, to upgrade our network design and devices. This upgrade will impact the network router and firewall components at 4 different network zones at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in the ESPC. Please note: No backup capabilities exist for individual network zones within the ESPC operational network. These temporary product outages may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to increase system reliability for the future. Proposed dates for the Network Technology Refresh implementation: *Partner Zone Outage* is scheduled for August 1, 2012, 1600 -1730 UTC (or August 2, 2012, in the event of a Critical Weather Day) - You should have received a detailed notification and the product impact statement on July 17, 2012 (http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SATS/MESS/MSG1981928.01.txt) *Production Zone Outage* is scheduled for August 8, 2012, 1600 - 1715 UTC (or August 9, 2012 in the event of a Critical Weather Day) - A detailed outage notification with an impact statement is forthcoming. *Staging and Migration Zone Outage* is scheduled for August 15, 2012 (or August 16, 2012, in the event of a Critical Weather Day) - A detailed outage notification with an impact statement is forthcoming. *DMZ Outage* is scheduled for August 22, 2012 (or August 23, 2012, in the event of a Critical Weather Day) - A detailed outage notification with an impact statement is forthcoming. The upgraded will not be done on a Critical Weather Day, or if there are other significant operational issues warranting postponement. If you have any specific questions, please contact User Services at SPSD.Userservices@noaa.gov between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (EDT), Monday through Friday, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the outage. If we receive one or more communications from sites requesting that the outage be rescheduled, the request will be reviewed with OSPO management to determine whether it is feasible to reschedule the outage. At the close of those outage window we expect all services to resume as normal.
