Details/Specifics of Change: Environmental Satellite Processing Center
(ESPC) is planning a network outage for August 15, 2012, between
1415 and
1530 UTC to upgrade the Staging & Migration Zone Network.
This upgrade
impacts the network router and firewall components.
Please note: ESPC operational products (applications and associated
end-products) will NOT be affected by this network outage.
No backup capabilities exist for individual network zones within
the ESPC
operational network.
If you have any specific questions, please contact User Services at
SPSD.Userservices@noaa.gov between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (EDT),
Monday
through Friday, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the
outage. If we receive one or more communications from sites requesting
that the outage be rescheduled, the request will be reviewed with OSPO
management to determine whether it is feasible to reschedule the
outage.
The upgrade to the Staging & Migration Zone Network router will not
be done
on a Critical Weather Day, or if there are other significant
operational
issues warranting postponement. This planned outage will be postponed
until August 16, 2012 if a Critical Weather Day is declared on
August 15,
2012. No date past August 16, 2012 has been planned and will require
a new
outage notification.
At the close of this outage window we expect all services to resume as
