Date/Time Issued: October 31, 2012 1811 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: GOES-14 Imager and Sounder data Date/Time of Initial Impact: November 1, 2012 1900 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: Permanent change until further notice Length of Outage: N/A Details/Specifics of Change: The Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO) will be stopping GOES-14 Imaging and Sounding by turning Imager and Sounder off on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 1900 UTC. All COMM services, except Data Collection Platform Report (DCPR) are still off. All SEM services including operational X-ray measurement platform (both XRS and SXI) will stay ON for now. GOES-14 GOES Solar X-ray Imager (SXI) will support GOES-15 Solar X-ray Imager SXI outgassing and testing in coming weeks. SXI and XRS will be commanded off after the SXI outgassing. OSPO does NOT operationally distribute GOES-14 science test data beyond GVAR receipt and our GCR server. All GOES-14 subsystems are nominal. GOES-14 will remain in normal mode at 89.5 degrees West longitude until further notice. Please note: Starting tomorrow, November 1, 2012, GOES-14 SRSOR (Super Rapid Scan Operations) schedule will NOT be generated. The last request for SRSOR will be completed today, October 31, 2012 at 2244 UTC. Following this time, OSPO plans to run routine schedules for the rest of the day on October 31, 2012.
