Details/Specifics of Change:, Starting February 13, 2013, HIRS Level 1B
data from Metop-B will also be available as pre-operational service for
release to all current users of Metop-A HIRS Level 1B data on Data
Distribution Server (DDS). This means HIRS now joins the other Metop-B
Level 1B data sets that became available January 15, 2013. Level 2
and 3
products made from Metop-B data will be available gradually over
the next
few months as each product becomes operational. The products from
Metop-Bshall be declared operational at the end of
Metop-B commissioning.
If you are a user who has been receiving Metop-B HIRS 1B datasets
already,
you will not see any changes on February 13, 2013.
Please note: Metop-B is pre-operational. That data are currently of the
same quality as those from Metop-A. The data is of operational
quality but
the level of service is not operational. Data may be interrupted due to
higher priorities. Metop-A is the operational Metop satellite at
this time.
