GYE has not been previously tested on NOAA-17. On February 25, 2013 a test of GYE flight software will begin and continue until March 7, 2013. This is one of the scheduled End-of-Life tests for NOAA-17 prior to the proposed deactivation on March 20. It will also be the first GYE test of extended duration lasting more than 48 hours. Spacecraft yaw pointing accuracy is not expected to be significantly changed since the spacecraft already operates in the ESTX (estimate yaw) mode. Yaw errors in GYE may be in the range of about ± 1 degrees. The test will run for about 9 days. Recall NOAA-15 and NOAA-18 have been tested for 24 to 48 hour period in GYE with the resulting expected errors quoted above. This test will proceed during Critical Weather Day Periods since the proposed decommissioning date for NOAA-17 is 20 March 2013. *Contact Information for Further Information:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov and 301-817-3880 or Senior Duty Meteorologist at _Sdm@noaa.gov_ and 301-763-8298. *Web Site(s) for applicable information:* Users can get CWD status on the NCEP WEB page: http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/cwd/ This message was sent to ESPC.Notification@noaa.gov.
