Subject: Administrative: GOES-13 (GOES-East) Imager Patch Temperature --047d7b2e41467b9fe104dcb1f930 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Topic: GOES-13 (GOES-East) Imager Patch Temperature Change Date/Time Issued: May 14, 2013 1840 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: GOES-13 (GOES-East) Imager Date/Time of Initial Impact: May 17, 2013 1532 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: Please see details. Length of Outage: N/A Details/Specifics of Change: This Friday, May 17, 2013, OSPO Engineering will command imager patch to MID (84K) setting from the current LOW (81K) set point due to approach of the summer solstice. The temperature transition is expected to take 15-20 minutes and may have some minor striping effect on the first image following the change. The MBCC (Midnight Blackbody Calibration Correction) and SPS (Sensor Processing System) averaging will be turned off at the same time. MBCC will be turned back on after two days, and SPS averaging after four days. The noise may become slightly higher as a result of the 3K higher detector temperatures. The patch will be reset back to "LOW" again in Fall when the sun inclination is low enough.
