Time of Initial Impact has been changed: it was implemented an hour ahead of schedule. Topic: Planned router switch for the NCEP POP connection scheduled for June 4, 2013 Date/Time Issued: June 4, 2013, 1500 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: NCEP users, including the local centers, and COPC partners will experience a complete loss of communication to the ESPC systems within the NSOF boundary. Other users will not be affected by this outage. Date/Time of Initial Impact: June 4, 2013 1400 UTC (updated) Date/Time of Expected End: June 4, 2013 1419 UTC (updated) Length of Impact: 19 minutes Details/Specifics of Impact: Update: NCEP POP move has been completed, and NCEP has confirmed data reception. Time of Initial Impact has been changed: it was implemented an hour ahead of schedule. The network team at the Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC) is planning a brief network outage to switch routers for National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Point-Of-Presence (POP) connection at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD, for June 4, 2013, at 1500 UTC. There is no backup date for this planned outage. If NWS Regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301) 683-1500. This outage will affect all communication between NSOF and NCEP. NCEP will not be able to connect to the DDS, NDE, and SATEPSDIST systems. That will affect all of the satellite ingest into the supercomputer, imagery data for the local centers, and all of the model data NCEP sends to ESPC through the DDS and SATEPSDIST. COPC will not be able to connect to Shared Processing Program Gateway (SPPGW). Please note: At the close of this outage window all services are expected to resume nominal operations. If you find that any of your services are still affected after the close of the outage window please use contact information listed below. We realize this temporary product outage may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to increase system reliability for the future.
