striping
has been observed on NASA's MODIS Terra water vapor channels
impacting the production of the polar wind vectors. After
consulting with a senior scientist at the NESDIS Center for
Satellite Applications and Research (STAR), a decision was
made to
suspend operational product generation until further
notice. STAR
scientists will continue to investigate to see if it is possible
to reduce striping/noise and thus improve the quality of these
winds.
