The purpose of the EOL testing is to better understand the Filter Wheel's dual winding operation and the optimal way to operate GOES N-P in dual winding operation. GOES-12 users may lose Sounder data while the Sounder filter wheel windings are being turned off and then turned on. GOES-12 Sounder data may be stopped permanently if both windings fail to restart. GOES-12 Imager data will not be impacted during the Sounder EOL testing period. GOES-12 Sounder electronics are scheduled to be turned off at 1100 UTC on August 13, 2013, which will be the conclusion of all data products from the GOES-12 Sounder. The GOES-12 Imager data will be turned off at approximately 0000 UTC on August 16, 2013. GOES-12 de-orbit maneuvers are scheduled at 0100z and 1300z on August 16, 2013. *Contact Information for Further Information: *ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov and 301-817-3880. ** *Web Site(s) for applicable information:* N/A This message was sent by ESPC.Notification@noaa.gov.
