Subject: Administrative, Reminder: GOES-14 North/South Maneuver --047d7b6732000c57aa04e335d55b Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Topic: GOES-14 North/South Maneuver scheduled for August 6, 2013 Date/Time Issued: August 5, 2013 1630 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: GOES-14 Imager and Sounder Data Date/Time of Initial Impact: August 6, 2013 1440 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: August 6, 2013 2344 UTC Length of Outage: See table in Details. Details/Specifics of Change: GOES-14 has returned to normal mode for the annual North/South maneuver. A GOES-14 North/South Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 1440 UTC. There is no backup date for this maneuver. On August 6, 2013 the following schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations: GOES-14 North/South Maneuver Schedule begins at 1440 UTC on August 6, 2013. >From 1440 UTC through 1629 UTC -- GOES-14 No Scan Operations >From 1630 UTC through 2344 UTC -- INR (Image Navigation Registration) Recovery Schedule. PLEASE NOTE: There is no longer a requirement to scan Full Disk Images and CONUS soundings only. Routine imaging and sounding will occur for the entire recovery period. Navigation could potentially be off until the end of recovery period at 2344 UTC. 2345 UTC -- GOES-14 Routine Scan Operations Resume. ESPC Operations will NOT be deriving and distributing GOES-14 products; however, users with direct rebroadcast capabilities should exploit this opportunity to retest their GVAR ingest equipment. Navigation location for GOES-14 is found at within WMO header TBUS09, and is located roughly at 105 degrees west. Upcoming GOES-14 Normal Mode Activities and Operations will include: Month/Day - Activity * 08/01 - 08/02 - INR start up activities. * 08/02 - 08/06 - CERTN/CERAP scehdule execution. * 08/05 - new image testing. * 08/06 - Annual North/South maneuver. * 08/07 - 08/13 - Updated CERTN/CERAP/CESRSO/CEFD schedule testing. * 08/08 - E/W maneuver following N/S, if needed. * 08/13 - 08/16 - Dry run Support GOES-R SRSO (Super Rapid Scan Operations) testing. * 08/16 - 08/19 - Updated CERTN/CERAP/CESRSO/CEFD schedule testing. * 08/19 - 08/28 - GOES-R SRSO (Super Rapid Scan Operations) testing. * 08/28 - 08/29 - Updated CERTN/CERAP/CESRSO/CEFD schedule testing. * 08/29 - Return to storage mode or instrument off Please note: GOES-14 SRSOR (Super Rapid Scan Operations) schedule will be generated daily in addition to the default CERTN schedule. A minimum of 2 hours notice is required for requesting SRSOR implementation. All GOES-East and -West operations as well as any Health and Safety concerns take precedence over SRSOR schedule transitions. OSPO does NOT operationally distribute any GOES-14 science test data.
