Subject: Administrative: GOES-13 (GOES-East) Sounder Patch Temperature --047d7b6d7d3afc095c04e67f9916 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Topic: GOES-13 (GOES-East) Sounder Patch Temperature Change Date/Time Issued: September 16, 2013 1246 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: GOES-13 (GOES-East) Sounder data Date/Time of Initial Impact: September 12, 2013 2035 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: Please see details. Length of Outage: N/A Details/Specifics of Change: On September 12, 2013, SOCC Engineers changed the GOES-15 Sounder patch temperature from its LOW set points (82 K) to its HIGH set-point (85 K) at about 2035 UTC. The temperature transition took approximately 30 minutes during housekeeping. The patch will be changed to "MID" during the upcoming Yaw Flip (9/23) outage and then back to "LOW" on October 9th during the 2045 UTC housekeeping. Approximately two hours of product impact can be expected during transition from MID to LOW on October 9th, 2013. GOES-15 patch management is necessary to minimize patch fluctuations around each equinox due to the cooler blanket anomaly.
