GENERIC SERVICE INFORMATION
The EUMETCast Europe service will be upgraded from DVB-S to the DVB-S2
standard in August 2014.

Meteosat Straylight.
During eclipse seasons, stray light affects the way the spacecraft
instrument is commanded. There are periods where the black body
calibration is performed after the instrument retrace instead
of prior to it. This delays files for the time of the calibration
(approximately three minutes) which then affects the data timeliness
in the same way. This nominal calibration activity during eclipse
seasons will therefore cause periods of noticeable delays to reception
of data by Users.

Unavailability of several VITO-provided products due to US Government
shutdown
The Copernicus Global Land service uses some data from US government
services (NASA and NOAA) to create some of its SPOT-VEGETATION derived
products. Due to the lapse in US federal government funding, several
federal US agencies have been shut down and hence do not provide any
data at this moment. Because of this, the production of the FCOVER,
LAI and Albedo (both the currently provided version 0 as well as
upcoming version 1) and their delivery via EUMETCast, in Near Real
Time, are interrupted, starting from the last dekad of September or
first dekad of October. The missing products will be provided as soon
as the US government services are re-started.

will be temporarily degraded.
A touch-up in-plane manoeuvre may be performed two days later. This
will be confirmed in due time.

JMA will switch operations from MTSAT-2 to MTSAT-1R due to ground
segment maintenance.
MTSAT-1R image data labelled as MTSAT-2 and rectified to 145 degree
East will be disseminated.
Operations will be switched back to MTSAT-2 on 19 December 2013.
