Subject: Product Outage/Anomaly:UPDATE #2 VIIRS Anomaly, Issued: This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------090506070205000503020908 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit *Update #2* On 2014-02-04 at 17:37 UTC VIIRS stopped outputting science data. At 18:04:57 UTC (AOS SVL 11781) controllers reported multiple VIIRS and 1394 bus alarms to engineers. During the back orbit engineering verified the state of the VIIRS instrument and began preparations for recovery. The VIIRS Petulant Mode recovery was executed during SVL 11782, 11783, and 11784. Science data resumed at 21:35:02 but may be degraded for multiple orbits due to temperature variations. All VIIRS DNB data will be degraded prior to SVL 11784 when the VIIRS DNB tables were loaded. *Update #1* SOCC has begun the recovery procedure and we have power cycled VIIRS.The VIIRS instrument is currently in safe mode and we will continue to bring it up to ops mode. We will continue to update everyone as we progress along. * Topic:*VIIRS Anomaly *Date/Time Issued*: February 5, 2014 0040 UTC *Product(s) or Data Impacted: *VIIRS *Date/Time of Initial Impact:* February 4 2014 17:37 UTC * Date/Time of Expected End *21:35 UTC *Length of Outage: *4 Hours *Details/Specifics of Change:* The VIIRS science data stopped at 17:37:44 due to anomaly, staff is currently investigating. *Contact Information for Further Information:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov and 301-817-3880* Web Site(s) for applicable information:* N/A You have been sent this and other notifications because you have opted in to receive it.
