GENERIC SERVICE INFORMATION
The EUMETCast Europe service will be upgraded from DVB-S to the DVB-S2
standard in August 2014.

Meteosat Straylight.
During eclipse seasons,stray light affects the way the spacecraft
instrument is commanded. There are periods where the black body
calibration is performed after the instrument retrace instead of prior
to it. This delays files for the time of the calibration (approximately
three minutes) which then affects the data timeliness in the same
way. This nominal calibration activity during eclipse season will
therefore cause periods of noticeable delays to reception of data
by Users.
Meteosat Straylight Predictions for Winter/Spring 2014 are available
on EUMETSAT Website:

During this maintenance period there is a risk of a short interruption
to the Meteosat-10 mission data.

Monthly RSS interruption
Meteosat-9 Rapid Scanning Service (RSS) will be suspended for scheduled
Full Earth Scanning and Ground Segment Maintenance.
Meteosat-8 RSS image data, rectified to 9.5 deg E, replaces the
Meteosat-9 service. The RSS meteorological product service is not
available during this timeframe.
An outage of 15 minutes (or slightly more) can be expected when
switching to and from Meteosat-8.
METOP AND NOAA GLOBAL DATA SERVICE
Metop-A MHS Hardware failure.
MHS L1B and ATOVS L2 products will be unavailable until further notice
while instrument recovery is ongoing. Metop-B and NOAA-19 products
are unaffected and will continue to be available.

MHS L1B products will be unavailable until further notice while

are unaffected and will continue to be available.

be available.
The AVHRR GDS Level 1 products and AVHRR regional data will be
temporarily degraded.
GRAS data will be degraded for up to 4 hours after the manoeuvre.
