GENERIC SERVICE INFORMATION
The EUMETCast Europe service will be upgraded from DVB-S to the DVB-S2
standard in August 2014.

Meteosat Straylight.
During eclipse seasons,stray light affects the way the spacecraft
instrument is commanded. There are periods where the black body
calibration is performed after the instrument retrace instead of prior
to it. This delays files for the time of the calibration (approximately
three minutes) which then affects the data timeliness in the same
way. This nominal calibration activity during eclipse season will
therefore cause periods of noticeable delays to reception of data
by Users.
Meteosat Straylight Predictions for Winter/Spring 2014 are available
on EUMETSAT Website:

Due to ground segment maintenance there may be a risk of loss to
image products and associated meteorological products.
METOP AND NOAA GLOBAL DATA SERVICE
Metop-A MHS Hardware failure
Investigation into the anomaly has been progressing through on-board
diagnostic testing. The failure is believed to be most likely due
to a short-circuit of two independent heater switches. However,
the testing has demonstrated that it should be possible to reach
an operational state in a safe configuration through alteration of
existing procedures on-ground, possibly in combination with onboard
software changes. The instrument manufacturer is currently performing
a detailed assessment of the failure scenario, which is a prerequisite
to the continuation of further diagnostic testing.
MHS L1B and ATOVS L2 products are expected to remain unavailable for
several weeks.
Metop-B and NOAA-19 products are unaffected and will continue to
be available.

The dissemination of EARS-ATOVS products for METOP-A will be resumed
for all products from the HIRS and AMSU-A instruments. Please note:
The ATOVS (HIRS) Level 1d products will not contain MHS data until
further notice.
THIRD-PARTY DATA AND PRODUCTS
From 31 March 2014 14:00 UTC and until further notice, Data from
Electro-L N1 are not available.
Oceansat-2
Due to an irrecoverable OSCAT instrument failure, the following
services are now discontinued:
- OSCAT L2A ISRO product
- OSCAT L2B ISRO product
- OSCAT Winds at 50 km Swath Grid (provided through the OSI SAF)

SEM and GOME data will be unavailable.
A temporary degradation of the quality of GRAS Level 1 products is
to be expected starting at the time of the manoeuvre.
All AMSU-A, ASCAT, ATOVS, AVHRR, HIRS, IASI and MHS products may
have temporarily degraded quality geo-location data after the time
of the manoeuvre.
Exact outage times to be announced closer to the day of the manoeuvre.
