Length of Event: Approximately 7 hours of access to NSOF Data/CIP Data will be available during that period. Product(s) or Data Impacted: All ESPC products will be affected. For a list of the products that will and will not be available through CIP during this failover test, please see http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/cip.html Please note: several websites/data links will NOT be available during the CIP failover test. Details/Specifics of Change: The Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC) plans to failover to the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) site on August 12, 2014 and possibly August 13, 2014, as a follow-up to the ESPC CIP Contingency Exercise. The purpose of the exercise is to validate the ability to failover the ESPC network to the CIP system and the ability to switchback the ESPC network to the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) after an approximately seven (7) hours duration. This test will be transparent to ESPC users, with the exception of pre-determined non-critical/non-funded products not being available during the test. Please see a link below for products available/not available during the exercise. The exercise will not be done on a Critical Weather Day, or if there are other significant operational issues warranting postponement. If a Critical Weather Day is declared on August 12, 2014, the ESPC/CIP Contingency Exercise will restart on August 13, 2014 at 1230 UTC, and products should begin distributing from the CIP system by 1330 UTC. No date past August 13, 2014 has been planned, and will require a new notification. The CIP site, at Wallops Island, VA will be the operational ESPC system for a total of seven (7) hours.
