We began failing back to the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF). NSOF will begin sending out all the back-logged data, and this backlog may saturate our network. Topic: Notification of Planned ESPC/CIP Quarterly Exercise with Failover to the CIP Date/Time Issued: August 12, 2014 1855 UTC Date/Time of Initial Impact: August 12, 2014 1230 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: August 12, 2014 1930 UTC See table in detail for on and off switch time. Length of Event: Approximately 7 hours of access to NSOF Data/CIP Data will be available during that period. Product(s) or Data Impacted: All ESPC products will be affected. Details/Specifics of Change: The Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC) plans to failover to the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) site on August 12, 2014. The purpose of the exercise is to validate the ability to failover the ESPC network to the CIP system and the ability to switchback the ESPC network to the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) after an approximately seven (7) hours duration. This test will be transparent to ESPC users, with the exception of pre-determined non-critical/non-funded products not being available during the test. Please see a link below for products available/not available during the exercise. The CIP site, at Wallops Island, VA will be the operational ESPC system for a total of seven (7) hours.
