Details/Specifics of Change:  On October 16, 2014, SOCC Engineers will
change the GOES-15 (GOES-West) Sounder patch temperature from its
MID set
point (85 K) to its LOW set-point (82 K) starting around 2040 UTC
(4:40 pm
EDT) during the space craft housekeeping period.  The temperature
transition will take approximately 2 hours. The IR soundings between
21:00-22:30 may be effected by striping/banding until the temperature
is
stabilized at its new setting around 2230 UTC.

The signal to noise ratio and responsivity for IR channels will
improve as
a result of operating at a lower patch (detector) temperature.
