A parallel operational phase with DVB-S is provided till 31 December 2014, at which date the DVB-S service will end. For full details, see: www.eumetsat.int/website/home/News/DAT_2418124.html The intended swap back to MSG3 Meteosat-10 as the prime imaging satellite, originally planned for 09/12/2014, has been brought forward to today, Monday 08/12/2014 at 09:30 UTC following a contingency. Products may be of degraded quality for up to 12 hours after the swap and Some meteorological products will not be available after the swap, in particular the MPE product will be missing for several hours. This will affect the sea surface height, but not the wind and wave content in the products. THIRD-PARTY DATA AND PRODUCTS >From 04 December 2014 MODIS dbwinds Due to an anomaly at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) the MODIS dbwinds products cannot be disseminated until further notice. FUTURE EVENTS METEOSAT RSS 13 January 2015 09:00 UTC - 10 February 2015 09:00 UTC Meteosat-9 RSS yearly 1-month interruption. There will be no RSS gap filling coverage from Meteosat-8 during the one month Meteosat-9 RSS outage. A temporary degradation of the quality of GRAS Level 1 products is to be expected starting at the time of the manoeuvre. All AMSU-A, ASCAT, ATOVS, AVHRR, HIRS, IASI and MHS products may have temporarily degraded quality geo-location data after the time of the manoeuvre. Exact outage times to be announced closer to the day of the manoeuvre.
