Each temperature transition on March 4 and March 5 will take approximately 15 minutes during the daily housekeeping period prior to the CONUS frame scan at 2102 UTC. No product impact is expected during these temperature changes. The sounder patch will be changed back to "LOW" setting on April 8, 2015 at 8:22 UTC during the sounder eclipse outage. The cooling of detectors will take 2-2.5 hours and there may be some striping during the two frames right after eclipse (10:01 CONUS and 10:24 Hawaii frames) GOES-15 patch management and Yaw Flip is necessary to keep sounder detector temperatures cold and in control and minimize fluctuations around each equinox due to the cooler blanket anomaly discovered right after launch. *Contact for Further Information:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov at (301) 817-3880 *Web Site(s) for applicable information:* See http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SATS/messages.html for this and other satellite related messages. Date/Time Issued:  February 26, 2015 1930 UTC

Product(s) or Data Impacted:  GOES-15 (GOES-West) Sounder Data

Date/Time of Initial Impact:  March 4 and 5, 2015, at approximately 2045 UTC

Date/Time of Expected End:  March 4 and 5, 2015, at approximately 2100 UTC, respectively

Length of Outage:  N/A

Details/Specifics of Change:  On both March 4 and 5, 2015, SOCC Engineers will change the GOES-15 Sounder patch temperature from its LOW set point (82 K) to its MID set-point (85 K) and then to HIGH set-point (88 K) starting around 2045 UTC (3:45 pm ET).  Each temperature transition on March 4 and March 5 will take approximately 15 minutes during the daily housekeeping period prior to the CONUS frame scan at 2102 UTC.
