As an operational demonstration, NESDIS plans to conduct a transmission and data processing test of the GOES-15 "SITKA" and "TPARC" RSO sectors on March 17, 2015, from 1600 UTC to 2000 UTC. A special GOES-15 RSO schedule will be used for the four hour test period. Specifically, from 1600 UTC to 1800 UTC, the "SITKA" RSO sector will be broadcast, and from 1800 UTC to 2000 UTC, the "TPARC" sector will be broadcast. These two Alaska RSO sectors will replace the data transmission times of the SUB-CONUS RSO sector in the Standard GOES-15 West RSO schedule. There will be an increased number of GOES-15 (GOES-West) Rapid Scan Sectors with decreased coverage for the Southern Hemisphere scans. If a Critical Weather Day is issued by the NWS during the planned test period, the RSO test will be rescheduled for March 18 or March 19, 2015. ** The special RSO scan time schedule and corresponding RSO sector specifications for the Alaska RSO Sectors can be viewed at the following link: http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/Operations/GOES/west/rso-test2.html. To see the coverage area and obtain sector coordinates for the two RSO sectors being tested, click on the underlined "TPARC" and "SITKA" sub-links on the RSO test schedule. ** *Point of Contact for Further Information:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov and (301) 817-3880 *Web Site(s) for Applicable Information:*** See http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/Operations/GOES/west/rso-test2.html for special RSO scan time schedule.
