There are periods where the black body calibration is performed after the instrument retrace instead of prior to it. This delays files for the time of the calibration (approximately three minutes) which then affects the data timeliness in the same way. This nominal calibration activity during eclipse season will therefore cause periods of noticeable delays to reception of data by Users. METOP, S-NPP AND NOAA GLOBAL DATA SERVICE 09 April 2015 - 15 April 2015 Metop-A - IASI Instrument Management System switch to B side. A temporary degradation of the quality of GRAS Level 1 products is to be expected starting at the time of the manoeuvre. All AMSU-A, ASCAT, ATOVS, AVHRR, HIRS, IASI and MHS products may have temporarily degraded quality geo-location data after the time of the manoeuvre. Exact outage times to be announced closer to the day of the manoeuvre. REGIONAL DATA SERVICE 22 April 2015 Metop-B data from the Canadian Gander HRTP station will be added to the EARS-ATOVS, - AVHRR, -ASCAT, -IASI and -NWC services.
