Subject: Product Outage/Delay : MODIS Data , Issued July 7, 2015 Topic: MODIS data outage/delay Date/Time Issued: July 07, 2015 1605 UTC Product(s) or Data Impacted: All MODIS products Date/Time of Initial Impact: July 06, 2015 15:00 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: July 07, 13:30 UTC Duration: 22.5 hours Details/Specifics of Change: The MODIS data processing system unexpectedly ceased production yesterday (July 6th) when a series of bad input datasets locked the production queues. The problem has been investigated and cleared and full production was resumed this morning (July 7th). Approximately 200 MODIS data granules are currently backlogged and are scheduled to be processed as capacity allows. As always, level 1b files are given highest priority, and backlog processing procedures from most recent to oldest. We expect the level 1b backlog to be caught up within the next four hours. Level 2 backlog processing may take the remainder of the day.
