Two Jason-2 debris collision avoidance maneuvers are scheduled for
today. The Time of Closest Approach (TCA) is 22h45m31s Z on
18-November.
The first maneuver will start half an orbit before TCA at 21h49m18s
with
a semi-major axis correction of 200 meters. A second maneuver to
maintain JA2 in its control box will be performed 2 orbits later,
with a
semi-major axis correction of -194 meters at 01h34m10s 19-November. The
corrections to the semi-major axis are expected to result in large
radial orbit errors in the OGDRs, affecting the sea surface height, but
not the wind and wave content in the products.
