On Jan 22, 2018, PDA will be declared as the primary distribution server for all legacy data as the next phase in decommissioning the DDS system. DDS will only be supported as best effort during normal business hours (8x5); moreover, no data recovery will be available on DDS after Jan 22, 2018. Effective the date of this notice, there will be no new users, products, or subscriptions added to the DDS. In the meantime, DDS will be kept active to provide ancillary data to our legacy product generation systems at our Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) backup site and to provide a distribution system for CIP in the event of a real CIP activation (in that event, DDS would be supported 24x7 under such instances). Users who have migrated to PDA should maintain their DDS pull scripts in the event of an emergency activation of the CIP unless otherwise instructed. Users may also use DDS at NSOF as a backup in the event of a PDA emergency at our primary site for the next few months until final decommissioning of all DDS systems (NSOF and CIP) is completed. No earlier than the end of March 2018, a project to sync legacy data from CIP to our PDA backup at Consolidated Backup (CBU) is expected to be completed. Once that final phase is closed out, all DDS systems (at NSOF and at CIP) will be completely shut down - the exact date will be provided in a future notification. Informational - all DDS users who have not been re-validated for PDA access will need to complete and submit a Data Access Request (DAR) form immediately. The DAR form is available at the website listed below.
